BALL . HOCKEY . EDMONTON
and the Capital City Ball Hockey Association
About this website:
This website is a compilation of the historical statistics tabulated over the years. It includes the statistics for "Ball Hockey Edmonton" and its predecessor "Capital City Ball Hockey Association".

"Capital City Ball Hockey Association" started in 1982 to and continued to 1993, then merged with the "Edmonton Ball Hockey Association" in 1994 to form "Ball Hockey Edmonton" . Together the 2 leagues have been around for 28 years of summer ball hockey.

Season Standings
Standings The Season standings are the final regular season divisional standings for the men's and women's leagues for the years 1982 to 2009.

This is a very good indicator on how much ball hockey has grown in Edmonton over the years. The Men's League in 1982 had only 2 divisions with 16 teams in all. There was a slow growth over the years. With the merger in 1994 the newly formed BHE jumped to 7 men's divisions with a total of 80 teams. In 2009 the Men's League boasted 15 divisions and 154 teams.

The Women's League began in 1988 with 1 division and only 6 teams. It remained in th 10 to 15 team range until 2004 when the League jumped to 26 teams. Again there has been steady growth, and in 2009 there were 6 divisions containing 38 teams.

Team Yearly Statistics
Fatboys Just to make things a little interesting, these PDF files contain each year's season statistics. Within each year's file the statistics are sorted by division and then by team name. So far, only the Men's League teams from 1988 to 2005 are available for the moment. The Women's League team stats pages will be finished during the upcoming winter months.

Player Records
Awards Again another great feature, is the player records page. For both men's and women's Leagues from 1988 to the 2006 season there are a host of records to view. There are Season scoring records such as most goals in a season, most points in a season and most points in a season. Also for the scorers there is a list of the top 10 all-time career scorers for most goals, most assists, most points.

For the goalies there are season records such as most minutes played, most wins, most shutouts and best goals against average. Again, the career goal tending career records will be worked on over the winter season and will be up sometime in the near future.

Newsletters
Newsletters Over the years we have published a regular newsletter "Ball Hockey Edmonton Update". From the 1990s up until the 2006 seasons will be available in PDF files to view or add to your collection. Again this is a major project and is still being worked on but will hopefully be done by the 2010 season.

The newsletters contained up to date stats such as the current standings, top scorers and top goalies; team by team scoring and goaltending; information articles about the League and events; as well as great articles about the history and medals won in the league. This will be great fun to see how the league has progressed over the years.
